Whiteware Plate
Song Dynasty, 960-1127 AD, China

Diameter: 16.5cm

A flattened plate with slightly flared, notched rim dividing it into six petals. The entire piece is covered with a translucent, finely crackled glaze. It was fired on tiny spurs, from which three spur marks are visible. The white porcelaineous stoneware body has minute dark speckles.
Possibly from the Houzhou Kilns of Shanxi.
Excellent condition with some areas of surface scratching.
