Large Polychrome Charger with Phoenix

Le-So Dynasty, 15th - 16th c. Vietnam

A large porcelaineous charger with a beautifully drawn blue and green phoenix in flight amongst clouds in the center, surrounded by a narrow band of lotus petals. The cavetto is decorated with ornate Ruyi lotus petals and the barbed rim with a band of cloud motifs.  The underside has a similar decoration of ornate Ruyi petals in blue and green.    

Condition: Original green, some specks of original red, underside with large areas of glaze loss.   Some glaze fritting around the rim.
