Goryeo Celadon Bowl with Inlaid White Floral Pattern
Goryeo Dynasty, 12th - 13th c. AD, Korea
Diameter: 17.3cm
A shallow stoneware bowl with rounded sides. The interior has concentric incised lines under the mouth and four flowers
lightly incised around the interior cavetto. The exterior is deeply carved with scrolling lotus flowers with leaves, all inlaid with white slip. The entire piece is covered in pale, translucent blueish green celadon glaze with fine craqueleur. There are three spur marks in the slightly concave foot.
There are small original firing cracks on the exterior where the white inlay separates from the carved edges. Provenance:
