Pair of Molded Celadon Bowls

Goryeo Dynasty, 12th c. Korea

Diameters: 15 cm

 

A pair of molded stoneware bowls with flattened bottoms and canted rims.  The interiors are molded with a central floral medallion and floral sprigs around the interior cavetto. The bowles are glazed in a translucent dark green glaze that pools to an ideal blue-green color.  The shallow foot-rim and underfoot are also glazed with the exception of three spur marks.

Condition: 

Each with a small hairline at the rim.
