Goryeo Celadon Bottle Vase

Goryeo Dynasty 11th - 12th c. Korea

Height: 32 cm

 

A stoneware bottle vase of  pear-shaped form with elegantly elongated neck.  It sits on a short, slightly splayed foot rim, unglazed at the bottom and revealing a pale gray clay body fired to a russet color.  The glaze has fired to a finely crackled brownish green color, that becomes a minty green towards the bottom and in the under-foot well.  

Condition:Chip to mouth rim re-stuck with original material.
