Blue and White Plate with Floral Decoration
Le-So Dynasty 15th - 16th c. Vietnam
Diameter: 26.5 cm
A porcelaineous stoneware shallow bowl with underglaze cobalt blue decoration of four flowers with leaves incased in a double-lined circle in the center, surrounded by a narrow band with stylized cloud motifs. Just below the unglazed rim is a narrow band of scrolling decoration. The underside has finely drawn Ruyi petals and a band of stylized clouds nearer the foot. The bottom of the foot rim is unglazed with an underfoot glazed in iron oxide brown.
Condition: Two diverging hairline cracks.
